The 11th International Conference of Theoretical and Applied Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (TANN 2027) will take place across two of the University of Cartagena’s historic downtown campuses: Claustro de San Agustín (Calle de la Universidad, Cra. 6 #36-100) and Claustro de la Merced (Cra. 4 #38-40, Centro). The historic Claustro de la Merced is particularly notable because it is the final resting place of Gabriel García Márquez, recipient of the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Both campuses are located in the heart of Cartagena’s Centro Histórico (Walled City), one of the city’s most culturally significant and vibrant areas. Their central locations provide conference participants with convenient access to a wide range of hotels, restaurants, cafés, shops, and major historical and cultural attractions. The Claustro de la Merced is especially notable for its historical and cultural significance, as it is the final resting place of Gabriel García Márquez, recipient of the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Participants are encouraged to consider accommodation in or near the Centro Histórico for easy access to both conference venues and to fully experience Cartagena’s unique architecture, history, culture, and atmosphere. Taxis and other local transportation options are also readily available throughout the city.
